Old tabs: Part 6

My habit of keeping interesting things open in tabs on my mobile is WAY out of hand. So I’m challenging myself to blog them as I close them down. 10 a day. This is part 6.

I am terrible at keeping up streaks like this. But I seem to be doing OK with this!

1. List of Core Extensions – Code Mirror

https://codemirror.net/docs/extensions

This was probably open for when I was building my own little notes app!

2. Cooked.wiki

https://cooked.wiki

A clever online recipe book tool!

3. Stellarium

https://stellarium.org

A free open source planetarium for your computer.

4. Early Opportunities to Test WordPress 6.5 – make.wordpress.org

https://make.wordpress.org/test/2024/01/13/early-opportunities-to-test-wordpress-6-5/

These are now very late opportunities as WordPress is on v6.6 now!

5. NatureEye

https://www.natureeye.com

This site lets you fly remote drones over far away places. I found it when watching a live stream of the Sundhnúkur eruptions in Iceland. Such a cool idea.

6. Researcher uncovers one of the biggest password dumps in recent history

https://arstechnica.com/security/2024/01/71-million-passwords-for-facebook-coinbase-and-others-found-for-sale

Scary. Use a password manager! Use 2-factor authentication. Use passkeys.

7. KittenBot Meowbit

My son wanted one.

8. WordPress Hook Execution Order

https://hookorder.com

A really useful reference of what happens when in WordPress. Bookmarked!!

This reminds me – we were looking at buying a new bed a while back!

10. VNote

https://app.vnote.fun/

An open source, native (using Qt) markdown note-taking app that stores local files. Neat.
