I probably said last year that the strawberries pretty much look after themselves.
So it was no real surprise that they started cropping in June again.
But what did surprise us was the cherry tree. Nothing last year and then…
We picked a load and then covered them up, safe from the birds. They were quite bitter – perhaps we should leave them to ripen for longer next time – but made a delicious compote to have with vanilla ice cream! Mmm mmm.
